Abnormal AI Names Don Jeter CMO to Drive AI Security Growth
Former Torq CMO joins to build a global brand that matches Abnormal’s scale, as the company extends its behavioral approach to help secure AI
Abnormal AI, the behavioral AI company, today announced the appointment of Don Jeter as Chief Marketing Officer, as it extends its behavioral AI approach to help secure how enterprises adopt and use AI.
Abnormal built its reputation in email security, using behavioral AI to understand normal activity and detect threats that traditional tools miss. Today, the company protects more than 5,000 organizations, including 30% of the Fortune 5001. As AI reshapes both the threats enterprises face and the technology they depend on, Abnormal has extended that same behavioral approach to identity, and most recently, to AI security, with ambitions to play a greater role in how enterprises adopt and operate AI. That includes a new AI Security suite and a partnership with OpenAI.

“Many security tools look for known threats. We look for abnormal behavior, which helps us detect and stop previously unseen attacks,” said Evan Reiser, Founder and CEO of Abnormal AI. “That approach started in email, has been extended to identity, and is now the foundation of how we help secure AI. And as AI takes on real responsibility inside organizations, the question isn’t just who has access. It’s whether activity across identities and AI are behaving as expected. Everyone talks about AI. We’ve been building for it for years. Don will make sure the market knows it.”
As Abnormal prepares for its next stage of growth and a bigger role in the market, the company is focused on expanding its global presence and bringing its behavioral AI story to a broader audience. Jeter is known for challenging conventional B2B marketing with bold messaging, provocative campaigns, and an approach that breaks from the industry’s usual playbook.

He most recently served as CMO of Torq, where he built a brand Forbes called “unapologetically bold.” Prior to Torq, he held senior marketing roles at Symantec and Veritas Technologies, and led global marketing at Pax82 as the company grew from $5 million to $1 billion in ARR. At Abnormal, he will report directly to Founder and CEO Evan Reiser and oversee the global marketing team.

“As AI becomes more powerful, the risks go far beyond the agents companies deploy. Attackers are using the same technology to become more sophisticated, making it harder than ever to tell legitimate behavior from malicious activity,” said Don Jeter, Chief Marketing Officer of Abnormal AI. “Abnormal built its behavioral AI approach to understand what normal looks like, long before this new wave of AI emerged. That foundation is how we protect enterprises as the threat landscape evolves. It’s why I believe Abnormal is the most important cybersecurity company of the AI era, and why I couldn’t pass up this mission.”
