Broadcom Inc. is accelerating its momentum in the private cloud market with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), now adopted by nine of the top ten Fortune 500 companies. Globally, customers have licensed more than 100 million cores of VCF, highlighting its growing influence as enterprises modernize their cloud strategies. At VMware Explore 2025, Broadcom revealed an exciting milestone: VMware Private AI Services is now a standard part of VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0. This update makes the platform fully AI-native and available to customers around the world.

Krish Prasad, senior vice president and general manager of VMware Cloud Foundation Division at Broadcom, emphasized the shift. “It’s undeniable that customers are resetting their cloud strategies and building out their private clouds to support better developer velocity with IT control, and more cost-efficient AI deployments. To support the next wave of AI innovation, Broadcom is making Private AI a standard part of the modern private cloud,” he said. “With VMware Cloud Foundation, infrastructure and cloud operators get the cost and operational benefits of virtualization for AI workloads without sacrificing performance. Developers get access to native AI services delivered directly from the private cloud platform for a frictionless experience.”

Accelerating Private AI as a Service

With VCF 9.0, enterprises can now unify AI and non-AI workloads on a single secure, scalable private cloud platform. The inclusion of VMware Private AI Services as part of the VCF subscription, expected in Broadcom’s Q1 FY26, will allow organizations to fine-tune, deploy, and manage AI models with built-in governance. Features such as GPU Monitoring, Model Store, Model Runtime, Agent Builder, Vector Database, and Data Indexing/Retrieval will help simplify infrastructure, strengthen security, and streamline model operations.

Expanding AI Innovations with VCF

VCF customers can look forward to advanced AI-driven tools including:

  • Intelligent Assist for VCF (AI-powered troubleshooting to minimize downtime)
  • Support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling seamless and governed integration with popular tools like Oracle, ServiceNow, GitHub, and Slack
  • Multi-accelerator Model Runtime (flexible deployment across AMD and NVIDIA GPUs)
  • Multi-tenant Models-as-a-Service (shared AI models with strong data privacy)

Broadcom is also strengthening partnerships with NVIDIA and AMD to give customers more flexibility. With NVIDIA Blackwell infrastructure and AMD ROCm Enterprise AI software integrated into VCF, enterprises will gain powerful options to train, deploy, and run AI workloads securely inside their data centers.

Driving Developer Productivity

Beyond AI, VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 enhances developer agility. Built-in enterprise Kubernetes, GitOps-driven infrastructure, and Istio Service Mesh enable secure, policy-driven application delivery. Meanwhile, native vSAN S3 Object Store eliminates the need for third-party storage solutions, offering unified storage management across block, file, and object data.

Customer Success with VCF

Enterprises already see value in adopting VCF. Nicole Chesmore, Assistant Vice President of IT Security and Infrastructure Services at Grinnell Mutual, explained, “VMware Cloud Foundation is transforming Grinnell Mutual’s private cloud infrastructure, driving enhanced agility, efficiency and security across our operations.”

Similarly, Adam Little, Director of IT Operations at New Belgium Brewing Company, highlighted, “With the integrated and unified VCF 9.0 platform, we will be able to significantly improve our IT operations. VCF’s built-in security capabilities will help make us secure and compliant by default from the moment we deploy.”
