No migration environment is alike. Every company has its own technical dependencies, operational constraints, priorities. Successful migrations understand that reality before a single workload moves.”

— Sandra Esparza, Director of Migration Practice, cloudEQ

Earning the Competency required cloudEQ to pass a technical validation of its migration methodology and to submit customer references documenting completed engagements, including workload assessment, migration planning and execution, and post-migration optimization. It adds to cloudEQ’s existing AWS DevOps Consulting Competency.

cloudEQ’s migration practice works across the full lifecycle discovery and application dependency mapping, business case development, migration wave planning, execution, and Well-Architected Framework Reviews after cutover. The team delivers through the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) and supports common enterprise scenarios including VMware estate transitions, data center exits, and database modernization.

“Migration is where most cloud programs either succeed or fail. Achieving the AWS Migration Competency reflects more than technical expertise; it demonstrates more than a decade of helping organizations modernize with a disciplined, proven approach. What matters most is that our customers can move to AWS with less risk, greater confidence, and outcomes that support their business goals,” said Sean Barker,(opens in new tab) CEO of cloudEQ.

“Most customers come to us for a migration and stay for everything that follows, which is why this sits so naturally alongside our DevOps Competency and Well Architected Program work. Customers get a single partner accredited across the full lifecycle rather than one stage of it. That breadth is exactly what we’ve been building toward with AWS, and it’s a partnership we’ll keep investing in,” said Nic Harvey, VP of Channels and Alliances at cloudEQ.

cloudEQ applies AI to accelerate migration work (automating discovery, dependency analysis, and runbook generation), as an amplifier for the AWS services and tooling customers already rely on, rather than a replacement for them. The company holds 100+ AWS certifications across its engineering organization.
