Dynatrace, the AI-powered observability platform, has announced a new integration that allows developers using Postman Agent Mode to access real-time observability and production insights directly within their AI-assisted API workflows. Through this latest development, teams can significantly enhance API quality, reliability, and delivery speed. The capability comes as part of an expanded technology alliance between Dynatrace and Postman, two companies focused on helping developers build and manage modern applications more efficiently.

To begin with, the collaboration introduces the Dynatrace Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server to the Postman API Network. As a result, developers can securely connect Postman Agent Mode with Dynatrace observability data. This integration enables Postman to surface trusted telemetry while correlating API behavior with live production environments. Consequently, development teams can quickly identify issues and automate troubleshooting without leaving the Postman interface.

Furthermore, Postman Agent Mode functions as a native AI agent designed to support the entire API lifecycle. It operates using contextual information drawn from existing API collections, codebases, and governance standards. By linking Agent Mode to the Dynatrace MCP Server, organizations can surface real-time observability insights throughout the development and testing phases. In addition, Dynatrace serves as the observability backend, giving developers direct visibility into API performance and behavior within their existing development workflows.

“Connecting Dynatrace to Agent Mode brings AI-powered observability directly into a tool developers already trust and use every day,” said Bonifaz Kaufmann, Vice President of Product at Dynatrace. “Developers can now link API behavior to real production telemetry, understand issues in context, and resolve problems faster so they can focus on building and innovating.”

At the same time, the integration enables teams to use AI agents for more advanced tasks. For instance, developers can instruct the AI agent to test APIs, correlate failures with live telemetry data, identify root causes, and resolve issues using natural language commands. As a result, organizations can streamline workflows and reduce friction between development and operations teams while improving overall API performance and stability.

“Agent Mode represents an entirely new way of using Postman with full context across the API lifecycle,” said Balaji Raghavan, Head of Engineering at Postman. “Our valued partners play a critical role in extending that context even further to support developers’ API innovation. Dynatrace’s AI-powered observability platform provides deep insights and automation into API development, helping developers design, build and optimize higher quality APIs.”

Meanwhile, Dynatrace continues to strengthen its presence among global enterprises and developers. The company already supports many of the world’s largest organizations, including a significant number of Fortune 500 companies, while also serving a broad global developer community. Since many of these organizations already rely on Postman for API development, the addition of the Dynatrace MCP Server to the Postman API Network further expands Dynatrace’s reach within a highly active API ecosystem.

Ultimately, this expanded alliance highlights the growing importance of AI-driven observability and integrated development tools. By bringing real-time production context directly into API workflows, Dynatrace and Postman aim to empower developers to build, troubleshoot, and optimize APIs faster while maintaining higher levels of reliability and performance.
