OSAKA, JAPAN, 23RD APRIL, 2025 – Ericsson, as a platinum sponsor of the Nordic Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, will demonstrate its pledge to fostering an innovation and connectivity ecosystem in Japan.

From April 13 to October 13, the venue in Yumeshima, Osaka, will witness a joint exhibit from five Nordic nations, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, under the theme of “Mobility and Connectivity.”

Ericsson intends to further deepen collaborative ties with Japan’s industries, and it intends to portray the process whereby cloud and AI will leverage advanced mobile connectivity to revive Japan’s aspirations for economic revitalization, digital resilience, and carbon neutrality.

The Swedish telecom giant will also attend the Expo on Sweden’s National Day, on May 14, joined by HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and Swedish business executives.

An important highlight of Ericsson’s participation will be the “Ericsson KDDI Digital Mirai Lab,” in collaboration with KDDI Corporation, scheduled for May 18.

This event will provide digital education to children, in line with Ericsson’s global initiative, “Connect to Learn,” which has already touched over 570,000 lives in 45 countries. Beginning in 2022, Ericsson and KDDI have co-led educational activities in Yokohama to build digital literacy beginning at an early age.

Ericsson’s Senior Vice President and Head of Northeast Asia region Chafic Nassif, said:” This year marks 40 years of Ericsson partnering with Japanese Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to advance the nation’s connectivity.

Our participation in the Osaka-Kansai Expo represents a new chapter in this long-standing collaboration. We will engage with Japanese industries in the role of advancing connectivity to enable cloud and AI to scale – supporting Japan’s ambitions for economic revitalization, resilience, and a sustainable, decarbonized future.”

Ericsson’s presence at this expo signifies its leadership in sustainable tech, innovation, and global partnerships.
