Fujitsu has introduced a step forward in AI technology based engagement: an advanced technology allowing AI avatars to be autonomous presenters, and respond to audience questions. This effectively changes how organizations author and deliver their content.

The presentation technology uses Microsoft PowerPoint presentation metadata to auto-create presentation scripts and visuals. It also leverages a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology, so the avatar can respond to audience questions based on previously prepared material in the M365 platform.

A demo version will be available for corporate customers starting June 19 through the Fujitsu Research Portal. The product will be available globally later in the year as a Microsoft 365 Copilot AI agent called Fujitsu AI Auto Presentation, developed jointly with Tokyo Title Headwaters Co., Ltd.

Here is the kicker, users can develop AI avatars that look and sound like them in multiple than 30 global languages. The product can be used in MS Teams and MS PowerPoint making it accessible to any prospective presenter, regardless of their technological(where applicable), language or public presentation ability level.

Inside the company, Fujitsu plans to pilot the technology in Q2 FY25 with a global rollout to customers starting in Q3.

Satoshi Asano of Microsoft Japan called the step a major advancement in improving multilingual communication and making both internal and external knowledge sharing easier. Masaya Nishimaki of Headwaters added that the partnership highlighted the value of combining AI agents with Microsoft 365 tools for real-world business use.

Notable attributes include:

Autonomous slide transitions with built-in time management

Slide-by-slide, customizable scripts with promise-driven personalization

Voice recognition and synthesis allowing for real-time control and delivery that feels natural

Fujitsu views the development as an innovation that can help accelerate movement to a more inclusive digital society where anybody can communicate their ideas clearly and effectively, regardless of the language or where the communication takes place.
