Fujitsu and Nutanix Partner to Bring Japanese LLM Takane to Hybrid Cloud
TOKYO, JAPAN– 16TH APRIL , 2025 — Fujitsu Limited and Nutanix, a global techno-giant in hybrid multi-cloud computing, have today validated and announced the availability of Fujitsu’s large-scale Japanese language model, Takane, on the Nutanix AI Enterprise (NAI) solution and the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP).
Beginning April 16, Takane becomes the first LLM for Japanese language enrichment to be certified on NAI for deployment toward enterprise applications in private and hybrid environments.
Takane aims to resolve some peculiarities in the Japanese language, including mixed character sets, omission of subjects, and complex honorifics, as these peculiarities often act as hindrances for general-purpose LLMs.
On NAI, Takane is positioning itself as an AI solution that best satisfies data privacy, legal, and industry-specific regulations, supported by a private cloud architecture.
In partnership with Fsas Technologies’ PRIMEFLEX for Nutanix, Takane on NAI protects high-security domains, including finance, government, and R&D.
Thus, allowing customers to retain data sovereignty while leveraging AI is well suited for scenarios where public cloud use is limited.
Starting in July 2025, Takane will also be available as a Fujitsu-managed service, whereby Fujitsu Cloud Managed Service will provide unified operations across cloud environments.
The deployment feeds into Fujitsu’s Uvance business model, which emphasizes solving societal challenges with advanced digital solutions.
Now that Takane is validated, enterprises can confidently build AI capabilities with Japanese language and culture in a secure hybrid infrastructure.
