InMotion Hosting Expands Server Security with Fleet-wide Monarx Deployment
🕧 5 min

InMotion Hosting(opens in new tab) is expanding its longstanding partnership with Monarx by deploying Monarx ThreatShield across its server infrastructure, adding runtime application protection against modern web attacks.

Security has been a key part of the InMotion Hosting and Monarx partnership. During the first year of working together, InMotion Hosting reported(opens in new tab) a 40% reduction in security-related customer support cases.

Since then, Monarx technology has become an increasingly important part of how InMotion Hosting detects, blocks, and responds to malicious activity across its hosting environment. InMotion has previously credited Monarx with helping its teams reduce manual intervention related to malware, phishing, abuse, and other malicious activity.

Now, that partnership is expanding again.

Introducing ThreatShield Across the InMotion Hosting Fleet

ThreatShield adds a different layer of security to the existing Monarx protection deployed within InMotion Hosting.

Traditional firewalls typically analyze a request before it reaches an application. ThreatShield operates inside the application runtime, allowing it to understand not only what a request looks like, but what it actually attempts to do when executed.

This runtime visibility allows ThreatShield to identify and terminate malicious activity such as:

  • Cross-site scripting attacks
  • SQL injection
  • Remote code execution
  • Bots and brute-force attacks
  • Credential stuffing
  • Spam and other forms of application abuse

By deploying ThreatShield across its server fleet, InMotion Hosting is extending this protection across its infrastructure rather than relying solely on security measures configured by individual website owners.

“We were excited to be a part of Monarx’s early development, and they have had an extremely large impact on how we manage security across our platforms. Deploying ThreatShield across our fleet is another step toward making advanced protection an integral part of the infrastructure our customers rely on every day.” – Trey Faison(opens in new tab), Director of Products, InMotion Hosting.

“InMotion Hosting was an early believer in our approach to hosting security, so seeing the partnership continue to grow is particularly exciting for us. ThreatShield brings protection directly into the application runtime, giving InMotion another way to stop modern attacks before they can become compromises.” – Monarx

Staying Ahead of Emerging Threats

Attack techniques continue to evolve, and vulnerabilities can be exploited before traditional signatures or firewall rules have been developed and widely deployed.

ThreatShield takes a behavior-based approach at the execution layer. It evaluates activity inside the runtime and uses signals from across the Monarx platform to help determine whether a request is malicious.

For InMotion Hosting, the deployment represents the next phase of a partnership focused on making server and website security more proactive, automated, and deeply integrated into the hosting environment.
