WILMINGTON MASSACHUSETTS, 24TH APRIL 2025-Locus Robotics has reached a major milestone, surpassing 5 billion picks globally with its autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), marking a significant acceleration in warehouse automation adoption.

The achievement underscores growing reliance on robotics amid labor shortages and rising e-commerce demands.

The announcement, made today by the Massachusetts-based company, highlights the rapid scalability and efficiency of its robotic systems, now deployed in over 30 countries. LocusBots are responsible for billions of order fulfillment actions across major global warehouses.

“This milestone is more than a number—it’s a clear signal that robotic automation is no longer optional in modern logistics,”

said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics.

“Our partners are seeing measurable gains in productivity and worker satisfaction.”

Locus Robotics has been expanding aggressively in Asia, Europe, and North America, with clients including DHL, CEVA Logistics, and Boots UK. The 5-billion-pick threshold took less than two years to double from its 2 billion mark in 2023, a testament to increasing deployment velocity.

“We’ve seen a 40% improvement in order throughput since implementing LocusBots,”

said James Curtis, Logistics Director at CEVA Logistics.

Industry experts see this as a reflection of the post-pandemic warehouse evolution. Automation is becoming foundational as retailers optimize supply chains for speed and resilience.

Locus is also reportedly advancing AI capabilities within its bots, offering predictive analytics and improved navigation. Further milestones are expected, with the company hinting at upcoming expansions and feature enhancements.

“The data tells a story—automation is redefining fulfillment at scale,” added Karen Brown, Senior VP of Product at Locus Robotics.

The company has not disclosed the next target milestone, but sources indicate that 10 billion picks may be reached within 18 months.
