Mailprotector Launches Shield Blueprints for MSP Email Security

Mailprotector Launches Shield Blueprints to Help MSPs Scale Email Security Without Scaling Workloads

New capability eliminates repetitive configuration work and helps MSPs maintain consistent security standards across customers, with additional Shield enhancements coming this fall

Mailprotector, a SaaS-based cybersecurity leader in email security sold through the IT channel, today announced the launch of Shield Blueprints, a new capability that enables managed service providers (MSPs) to create and apply standardized email security configurations across multiple customer organizations. Built into Mailprotector’s Shield zero trust email security platform, Blueprints reduces manual setup, helps maintain consistent security policies, and makes it easier for MSPs to scale their operations as they add customers.

As MSPs grow, managing email security across an expanding customer base creates more administrative work. Each new customer requires configuration, often using many of the same settings, while maintaining consistency across existing customers can quickly become a burden. These manual processes consume valuable time and increase the risk of configuration errors and gaps in protection.

“Every customer environment has its own security requirements, but MSPs are often configuring the same policies and workflows over and over again,” said Ben Hathaway, CTO of Mailprotector. “As their customer base grows, it becomes harder to maintain consistency, identify configuration gaps, and ensure every organization is operating under the right security standards. MSPs need a way to standardize security across customers without sacrificing the flexibility to address different requirements or adding more administrative work as they grow.”

With Blueprints, MSPs can define a Shield configuration once and apply it across multiple customer organizations, eliminating the need to recreate the same settings for every deployment. New customer organizations automatically receive the partner’s default Blueprint configuration, while new users inherit the appropriate settings. MSPs can also create different templates based on industry requirements or service tiers, allowing them to maintain more restrictive security policies for customers in regulated industries such as healthcare and financial services.

Blueprints also helps MSPs maintain consistent security standards as customer environments evolve. Administrators can reapply specific categories of settings to existing organizations without affecting unrelated configurations, making it easier to address inconsistencies across customers. Before changes are applied, Shield provides a summary of what will be updated, requires typed confirmation for bulk changes, and maintains individual organization logs to support accountability and oversight.

The launch comes as Mailprotector prepares to introduce four additional Shield enhancements later this fall, designed to give users more control over their inboxes while helping MSPs streamline support:

  • Delegated Access allows users to give assistants or colleagues access to help manage their email security without sharing passwords, with actions logged under each delegate’s identity.
  • Noise Cancellation reduces unwanted email by safely unsubscribing users from mailing lists when they silence a sender.
  • Personalization gives users and administrators more flexibility in how Shield handles incoming messages, including risk-based delivery preferences, trusted senders, and first-time senders.
  • X-ray Share Links allows users to share Shield’s analysis of suspicious messages through read-only links instead of forwarding potentially dangerous emails.

Personalization and Noise Cancellation settings will also be manageable through Blueprints, allowing MSPs to establish consistent policies across customer organizations while giving individual users more flexibility in how their email is handled. The enhancements are designed to reduce routine support requests, simplify email security management, and improve the experience for both MSPs and their customers.
