CALIFORNIA, USA, 31st January 2025 – Today, the NetApp team announced that their near-term science-based emissions reduction goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
This validation demonstrates NetApp’s efforts toward building a sustainable focus into the framework of their business resilience plans. Using the income statement year ending in 2020 as a base year, NetApp has set a target to reduce scope 1 and 2 absolute greenhouse (GHG) emissions by 50.8% by the end of fiscal year 2030.
The SBTi categorizes NetApp’s scope 1 and 2 target ambition as 1.5°C aligned. NetApp further targets a 51.6% reduction in scope 3 GHG emissions associated with the use of sold products per effective petabyte shipped by fiscal year 2030 based on the FY 2023 baseline.

The business has made strides in this direction and was able to report an increase of 37% in scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction since the 2020 baseline regarding NetApp’s FY24 ESG Impact Report.
