Pega Unveils Agentic AI to Fast-Track Modernization
LAS VEGAS – June 2, 2025 At its 2025 PegaWorld conference in Las Vegas, Pegasystems Inc. released its Pega Blueprint platform. They have added agentic AI capabilities to the platform that enable organizations to streamline and modernize legacy systems much quicker than previously possible.
Most companies have difficulty with outdated software that’s badly documented and difficult to manage. These have been created years or decades in the past, hinder innovation and are expensive to modernize. Indeed, new research by Pega Research finds 88% of IT leaders think this “technical debt” keeps them from being competitive.
Pega Blueprint has enabled teams to work faster, previously using AI to deliver app designs and workflows. Now, it’s capable of much more. With the new agentic AI functionality, organizations can import a wide array of assets – old code files, architecture design documents, screenshots of screens and flows, and even demo videos. The AI then looks at everything and produces a functional blueprint for a modern, cloud-native application.
What’s nice about this is it eliminates the months of cumbersome and painstaking work that is usually required to see, understand and redefine an existing legacy system. Instead of spending months on that, the AI looks at the existing data and combines all of that into a usable starting point for app development. It’s faster and smarter and saves you guesswork. Also, the improved Blueprint now supports you with data modeling. It is aware of legacy data models and browsing documents and can auto-generate the fields and relationships you require in your new system. This makes migrating to the cloud and integrating systems a lot easier and faster.
A number of industry movers, such as HCLTech and Aaseya, are already taking advantage of the technology. They insist it’s not only relocating systems to the cloud, it’s about actually revolutionizing how companies work by developing intelligent, AI-born platforms that are designed to last.
The new capabilities are live and accessible to every Pega Blueprint user. PegaWorld attendees this week are getting hands-on and viewing demonstrations of how the platform functions in real time.
These changes are enabling Pega to assist companies to put old tech to rest once and for all and enter the era of intelligent automation.
