SecurityScorecard Adds Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan to Advisory Board
Public sector cybersecurity leader joins SecurityScorecard to strengthen third-party risk defenses as nearly one in four government organizations report insufficient cyber resilience
SecurityScorecard, the global leader in threat-informed third-party risk management (TPRM), announced that Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has joined the company’s Advisory Board. The appointment strengthens SecurityScorecard’s role as a trusted partner helping public sector and critical infrastructure organizations manage third-party cyber risk.

During his two terms as governor, Hogan made cybersecurity a statewide priority. He established Maryland’s first State Chief Information Security Officer role, convened the Annapolis Cybersecurity Summit with federal and industry leaders and launched the Maryland Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MD-ISAC) to improve threat intelligence sharing across state and local governments. His “whole-of-state” approach positioned Maryland as a national leader in coordinated cyber defense.
“Government leaders can’t afford blind spots when it comes to cyber risk,”said Hogan. “Protecting critical services requires real-time visibility across agencies and the extended vendor ecosystem. SecurityScorecard helps deliver that clarity, and I look forward to helping more public sector organizations strengthen their resilience before threats disrupt essential operations.”
Hogan’s experience leading statewide cybersecurity strategy and cross-agency coordination directly aligns with SecurityScorecard’s mission to help governments move beyond compliance-driven programs to continuous, threat-informed risk monitoring across their vendor ecosystems.
“When one in three breaches starts with a vendor, third-party risk becomes mission critical, not just a compliance checkbox,” said Dr. Aleksandr Yampolskiy, CEO and Co-Founder of SecurityScorecard. “We’re thrilled to welcome Governor Hogan to our Advisory Board. His experience aligning policy, operations, and accountability across government will help agencies proactively reduce risk across the vendor ecosystems they depend on.”
