Santa Monica, California, 13th March 2025 – In a shift for their customer engagement strategy, Snapchat has released advanced AI Video Lenses exclusively for Platinum subscribers. The lenses are Snapchat’s newest feature and enable greater levels of creativity with snaps by effortlessly integrating animated effects into videos with Snap’s proprietary AI video generator model.

Snap’s initial release will include “Raccoon” and “Fox” which feature foxes and raccoons with facial capturing technology that anthropomorphizes pets. Another lens, “Spring Flowers”, creates a cinematic bouquet reveal zoom out effect. Snap will continue to expand their catalog of lenses on a weekly basis.

Platinum subscribers will notice these lenses first in the Lens carousel. After selecting these lenses, users can start capturing a Snap with either the front or back camera and as the AI does its magic and processes the video in the background, the video is instantly saved to memories.

While the AI creates the users customized Snap, users can explore the app even further. Once finished, users can add the clips to their stories, send them to their friends, or submit them to Spotlight. Snapchat has regularly pushed the envelope when it comes to incorporating AI features and has always been on the best augmented reality (AR) innovations.

As the company stated, “We can’t wait to see how Snapchatters use tools to create and share experiences.” By utilizing generative AI, Snapchat’s objective is to deepen interaction and provide the type of content that motivates users to tell stories in different ways.

With increased attention towards focusing on premium aspects, Snap maintains its strategy of promoting the Platinum subscription tier as an innovation center.
