Gartner describes ISOC systems as providing a unified approach to threat detection, investigation, and response.

Stellar Cyber, the AI-native security operations platform, today announced that Gartner has named the company a Sample Vendor for Integrated Security Operations Center Systems (ISOC) in the Hype Cycle for Security Operations, 2026. Gartner lists Stellar Cyber among the Sample Vendors for Integrated Security Operations Center Systems.

The Gartner report describes a security operations market undergoing significant change. Gartner states that “The traditional SIEM market is actively being redefined and splitting as evolving buyer demands for TDIR drive migration toward competing alternatives.” According to Gartner: “newer solutions, such as security data lakes (SDL) and integrated security operations center (ISOC) systems, offer lower operational complexity, as well as more cost and data flexibility.”

Gartner defines ISOC systems as offering “a unified threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR) strategy,” often leveraging integrated technologies or services from a single vendor. Gartner says “they serve as an alternative to traditional SIEM platforms, sharing core features like data ingestion, analysis, and response. ISOC systems provide high out-of-the-box value, often prioritizing this over open flexibility. Consequently, they typically rely heavily on the vendor’s provided integrations and content.”

Gartner also says ISOC systems offer “a simplified approach to TDIR as an alternative to classic SIEM” for “many smaller to midsize organizations report challenges due to complexity and cost using traditional SIEM platforms.”

Why Integrated Security Operations Center systems matter

Gartner identifies several business impacts and drivers for ISOC systems. The report says ISOC systems can reduce “vendor sprawl and complexity of TDIR operations through more reliance on vendor-created integrations and out-of-the-box (OOTB) content.” Gartner also says security operations teams can “perform at higher scale through integrated workflow augmentation features such as AI and automation for common activities.”

The report further identifies the high cost of classic SIEM platforms as a top concern and states that the consolidated approach of ISOC systems can offer cost advantages by bundling multiple products and/or services and reducing the number of vendors to manage. Gartner concludes that ISOC systems offer the hope of “simplifying operations to improve TDIR outcomes.”

“Security teams are under pressure to improve TDIR outcomes without adding more operational complexity,” said Aimei Wei, Founder and CTO of Stellar Cyber. “Stellar Cyber brings detection, investigation and response together with integrated data, AI and automation. We believe the direction Gartner describes for ISOC closely aligns with the operational outcomes security teams are asking for: less complexity, more scale and faster time to value.”

Stellar Cyber and the ISOC model

Stellar Cyber helps security operations teams unify data and workflows across their existing security environment while applying AI and automation across detection, triage, investigation and response. The platform is designed to reduce operational complexity while supporting the open integrations and security content teams need to operate across heterogeneous environments.

For organizations evaluating alternatives to traditional SIEM, the emergence of Integrated Security Operations Center systems gives security leaders a new way to assess the performance of TDIR as a system. Gartner recommends that buyers evaluating ISOC systems measure “the performance and output of the system as a whole” rather than evaluating individual components in isolation.

We believe Stellar Cyber’s inclusion as an ISOC Sample Vendor places the company directly in this emerging Gartner-defined category as security operations teams look for simpler operations, higher scale, and improved TDIR outcomes.
