Connectbase, the global ecosystem for buying and selling connectivity, today announced that Virgin Media Business Wholesale has joined the Connectbase ecosystem as a Seller Cloud partner.

Virgin Media Business Wholesale is the wholesale division of Virgin Media O2, one of the UK’s largest telecommunications providers. It gives wholesale customers access to the scale of Virgin Media O2’s national fixed infrastructure, alongside a broad portfolio of connectivity services that support carriers, service providers and enterprises operating across the UK. Virgin Media O2 is investing around £2 billion into its network and services this year, including upgrading its national network to full-fibre, bringing significant scale and infrastructure depth to the Connectbase ecosystem.

Through the Connectbase automated, API-driven platform, Virgin Media Business Wholesale will be able to surface serviceability, quoting and product information more efficiently, helping global carriers and managed service providers (MSPs) access its Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Ethernet and high-capacity infrastructure services across the UK. In future, Virgin Media Business Wholesale will also offer Ethernet over FTTP.

Virgin Media Business Wholesale sees the Connectbase Seller Cloud as a strategic go-to-market channel to target large global carriers and MSPs, helping to build new relationships internationally while automating and strengthening existing ones. By making its product catalogue digitally accessible through the Connected World Platform, Virgin Media Business Wholesale can reach buyers beyond its existing partner base and increase the global visibility of its near-national network and broad wholesale portfolio.

This is particularly important for organisations seeking UK connectivity in metro and regional locations outside traditional core routes, where easy access to providers can be more challenging and where the scale and density of Virgin Media Business Wholesale’s network is a clear advantage.

Virgin Media Business Wholesale will increase its participation in the global connectivity ecosystem, strengthen brand awareness among international buyers, and improve win rates through real-time, location-precise quoting and serviceability data.

“Virgin Media O2 is one of UK’s most significant telecoms players, and their wholesale division’s decision to join the Connectbase Seller Cloud underscores the momentum behind digital connectivity commerce,” said Ben Edmond, Founder and CEO of Connectbase. “By making Virgin Media Business Wholesale’s extensive UK infrastructure digitally accessible to global buyers, we are enabling faster, more transparent transactions that benefit the entire ecosystem.”

“Joining Connectbase is about making it easier for more organisations around the world to discover and access our network and services in the UK,” said Diego Tedesco, Executive Director, Virgin Media Business Wholesale. “The Seller Cloud is an important step in making our infrastructure and product portfolio more accessible to the global connectivity ecosystem. That is particularly important as demand grows in metro and regional locations beyond traditional core routes, where the scale and density of our footprint means we are well placed to support buyers quickly and effectively.”
