ZeroEyes Expands AI Gun Detection into Comprehensive Security Platform
Three New Product Categories Extend Beyond Firearms to Address Additional Acute Safety Threats and Basic Security Needs
ZeroEyes, the creators of the first AI-based gun detection video analytics platform to earn full U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation, today announced the expansion of its platform beyond firearm detection to deliver a broader, more intelligent approach to safety. New analytics capabilities including knife detection and real-time threat geolocation, as well as additional security offerings, are now available in limited release, marking a significant step toward unifying acute threat detection with everyday safety operations.

The new capabilities reflect ZeroEyes’ goal to become a single, trusted platform organizations will use to secure, detect, and respond to a wide range of critical security events. The core of the new platform remains ZeroEyes’ venerable computer vision technology that protects thousands of buildings for customers in nearly every state. The company is further developing a comprehensive security platform that integrates preparedness, operational awareness, and investigative insights.
“ZeroEyes continues to push the boundaries of what AI-powered security can deliver,” said Mike Lahiff, CEO and founder of ZeroEyes. “We felt that the time was right to leverage the unmatched experience and success that we’ve built in AI gun detection to give our customers a comprehensive security solution that they can trust from preparation to detection to response.”
The platform includes three product lines:
- Secure: Solutions include expert site surveys, comprehensive mapping, the recently announced ZeroLink solution, and more on the way
- Detect: AI detection of guns, knives, intruders, crowds, left-behind objects, and more
- Respond: Real-time threat geolocation, drone-based AI, and the ZeroEyes Operations Center, with investigation analytics coming soon
Founded in 2018, ZeroEyes set out to become the leading solution for detecting guns and safeguarding schools, churches, healthcare facilities, businesses, and other organizations. Now that it is the industry leader in AI gun detection, the company is expanding its analytics offerings to provide detection of other acute safety threats.
The new capabilities include:
- Knife Detection – Created to address increasing demand in the U.S. and internationally, this AI-based technology identifies blades of 6 inches or greater, which are most commonly associated with violent incidents.
- Real-time Threat Geolocation – Provides geolocation of individuals of interest across multiple camera feeds based on non-biometric visual characteristics. This capability allows security teams to follow an individual of interest across a facility and establish a clear timeline of movement, helping responders act quickly and effectively after the initial threat is detected.
- General Analytics Suite – These include detection of intruders — including people, vehicles, drones and boats — as well as crowd formation, abandoned objects, and camera obstructions. ZeroEyes also now offers real-time camera health monitoring. Customers can configure alerts based on their specific security requirements, enabling more efficient incident response.
