Accenture Invests in QuSecure to Counter Quantum Cyber Threats
NEW YORK, 22nd January, 2025 – Accenture Ventures has heavily invested in QuSecure, an emerging leader in post-quantum cybersecurity known for developing innovative technologies.
This partnership focuses on creating state-of-the-art solutions to protect governmental entities and businesses from the aggressive growth of the quantum cyber threat landscape.
QuSecure’s QuProtect software provides a complete self-automated Quantum security service along with next-generation, quantum-resilient encryption that helps secure satellite communications, networks, cloud systems, and edge devices from current and future cyber attacks.
Moreover, the application is in full compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s NIST post-quantum encryption standards which allows for effortless integration between separate communication networks.
“Organizations need a reliable, quantum-resilient cybersecurity solution,”
Said Emerging Technology Security Lead at Accenture, Tom Patterson.
This collaboration aims to provide robust crypto-agility technologies mixing soft and hardware disciplines to protect critical networks and information systems from advanced threats.
This partnership has surpassed a vital milestone – efficiently conducting the world’s first multi-orbit data communication test shielded with post-quantum cryptography which made this test a success.
Leading financial institution Banco Sabadell is already testing QuSecure solutions on the Sabadell Blockchain to gain its first experience in deploying crypto-agility on the enterprise infrastructure.
According to Joan Puig, Group CISO of Banco Sabadell,
“Crypto agility enables the banking sector to adopt new cryptographic standards with ease.”
Rebecca Krauthamer, CEO of QuSecure, pointed out the need for enhancing crypto agility solutions amid evolving quantum threats. She said,
“With the rise of quantum threats, a cybersecurity scheme that uses orchestrated cryptography at scale is crucial.”
In a bid to assist businesses transition to post-quantum security, Accenture has reported that they have formulated a roadmap comprising eight steps, alongside the launch of a Quantum Security Maturity Index.
The index allows organizations to measure their quantum security infrastructure and points out the areas that need improvement. QuSecure will also take part in Accenture’s Project Spotlight, thereby empowering the company with Accenture’s industry knowledge and global business reach.
This collaboration illustrates the increasing concern around quantum cyber risks, and supports the fact that innovation is needed to secure sensitive information and communications in the modern world.
