DNSFilter, a global leader in AI-powered protective DNS and content filtering, today moved to accelerate its next phase of hyper-growth with the appointment of Conor Coughlan as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The hire comes as the company scales globally, readies new AI-powered offerings, deepens its channel and ecosystem partnerships, and works to capture greater share across protective DNS, content filtering, and adjacent security categories.

DNSFilter is already trusted by more than 45,000 organizations worldwide. Coughlan joins to turn that momentum into durable, profitable growth and to scale the firm to new heights. Coughlan most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer at Armis, where he helped scale the business from $27 million to more than $420 million in annual recurring revenue ahead of its $7.75 billion acquisition by ServiceNow.

“Conor is one of the most accomplished go-to-market leaders in cybersecurity, with a rare record of turning category creation into real revenue and lasting market leadership,” said Ken Carnesi, CEO and co-founder of DNSFilter. “As we scale globally and accelerate AI-powered protection to organizations of every size, his experience building the brand, demand, and analyst credibility that fuel rapid growth makes him exactly the right CMO for our journey.”

Coughlan’s appointment is squarely aligned to that growth agenda. DNSFilter is expanding its portfolio of AI-powered protection and insights and intends to extend its platform across more industries, more use cases, and more of the threat surface, converting category momentum into durable, profitable revenue and clear market leadership.

“DNSFilter is rapidly scaling and expanding its book of business. The priorities ahead are clear: grow efficiently, expand market share, and increase the total book of business and valuation,” commented Thomas Krane, Chairman of the Board of Directors, DNSFilter. “Conor has repeatedly built best-in-class go-to-market engines, helped to rapidly scale businesses and their associated valuations and to deliver on critical goals and objectives.”

Coughlan brings more than 25 years scaling SaaS organizations across three continents. He was named Cyber CMO of the Year in 2025. He has built and aligned marketing, sales, and customer success organizations, acquired multiple firms, driven the creation of new analyst categories, and been recognized among the most influential people in cybersecurity.

“I have spent my career helping companies scale efficiently, capture market share and stand out in crowded markets. DNSFilter has the technology, the customer base, and the ambition to become an AI category-defining leader,” said Conor Coughlan, CMO, DNSFilter. “The growth momentum here is real. I am excited to join the executive team, to build the brand and go-to-market engine that turns that potential into sustained, profitable growth and drives total business value by many multiples.”

Coughlan will lead global marketing, assist with M&A, go-to-market strategy, aligning tightly with sales and customer success to accelerate pipeline, strengthen the company’s standing with industry analysts, and build the brand engine of a category-defining security company. His appointment follows the recent addition of Rich Scott as Chief Revenue Officer, with whom he actively partners, to build one of cybersecurity’s best go-to-market teams and to accelerate the company’s growth and expansion plans.
