Platform9 Launches New Channel Partner Program with Up to 30% Margins

New channel-first program eliminates partner tiers, simplifies deal registration and gives resellers a transparent path to higher-margin opportunities.

Platform9, the enterprise private cloud company, announced a new partner channel partner program called RISE  in the United States, designed to give resellers a simpler, more transparent and more profitable way to build private cloud offerings. The new program eliminates traditional partner tiers and offers partners up to 30% margins giving channel organizations greater predictability and control over their economics.

As the margins for channel vendors continue to decline and the virtualization and private cloud market experience a renaissance, Platform9 is looking to build stronger and more transparent margins for channel partners who are looking to diversify their virtualization strategies with private cloud offerings to customers.

“Private cloud infrastructure software is no longer a settled market. A forced migration away from the dominant incumbent, the pull of on-premises and sovereign AI, and renewed pressure on cost and control have turned the platform choice into a multiyear strategic decision, and buyers are rewarding vendors that deliver on their commitments over those with the longest feature list,” says Shahin Hashim, associate research director, Storage and Data Management, Enterprise Infrastructure, IDC.

“Partners shouldn’t have to navigate complicated tiers or opaque rules to build a profitable business with a technology vendor,” said Rich Phillips, Vice President of Sales at Platform9. “We’re taking a fundamentally different approach: we’re giving partners a clear economic model that helps them create new revenue opportunities as interest in private cloud accelerates.”

A Channel Model Built for Partner Economics

Traditional infrastructure vendors have increasingly put pressure on channel margins, making it more difficult for resellers and service providers to grow profitable businesses. In addition, shifts with the VMware partner program have left many users needing to find new virtualization and cloud strategies.

Gartner® predicts that “By 2029, 55% of enterprises will initiate proofs of concept for alternative distributed hybrid infrastructure products to replace their VMware-based deployments and embrace hybrid cloud infrastructure delivery, up from 25% in 2026.”*

Platform9’s new Channel Partner Program is designed to address that challenge with a straightforward model:

  • Up to 30% partner margin: Partners can earn up to 30% margin, depending on geography, providing a strategic economic advantage compared with typical infrastructure vendor programs.
  • One partner model: Platform9 eliminates multiple partner tiers, giving every partner a straightforward path to participate without having to qualify for increasingly complex levels.
  • Transparent deal registration: A simplified registration process helps partners protect opportunities and understand the rules of engagement from the outset.
  • Partner-led services: Partners can build and deliver their own migration, implementation and managed services around Platform9, creating additional opportunities beyond product resale.
