SecurityScorecard Appoints Sami Khoury to Public Sector Advisory Board
One of Canada’s most senior cybersecurity leaders joins SecurityScorecard to help organizations strengthen supply chain resilience
SecurityScorecard(opens in new tab), the global leader in threat-informed third-party risk management (TPRM), announced that Sami Khoury, former Government of Canada Senior Official for Cyber Security and former Head of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, has joined its Public Sector Advisory Board. The appointment deepens SecurityScorecard’s work with governments and critical infrastructure operators in Canada and allied nations as they confront third-party cyber risk.

Khoury retired in July 2026 as the Government of Canada Senior Official for Cyber Security, where he represented Canada globally, engaging leaders on cyber resilience, supply chain risk, public-private collaboration, and other critical cybersecurity challenges while building lasting partnerships across government, industry, and the international community. He also advised senior Canadian officials on cybersecurity. From 2021 to 2024, he led the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, Canada’s national technical authority for cybersecurity and a key partner to government, critical infrastructure, industry, and international allies.

Khoury’s experience leading national cyber defense and building partnerships across government, industry, and international allies aligns directly with SecurityScorecard’s work helping public sector and critical infrastructure owners and operators move from compliance-driven programs to continuous, threat-informed monitoring of the vendor ecosystems they depend on.

Khoury spent more than three decades at the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), joining the organization as a research engineer in 1992 and advancing through multiple senior operational, technology, and executive roles. Over the course of his tenure, he served as Assistant Deputy Minister for Enterprise Technologies and Solutions and as CSE Chief Information Officer, leading CSE’s research program and 24/7 Operations Centre.
Khoury will provide strategic counsel as SecurityScorecard expands its work with public-sector organizations and critical infrastructure around the world, helping inform how continuous intelligence, AI-accelerated workflows, and threat-informed risk management can strengthen the resilience of government supply chains and the essential services they support.

Khoury holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Master of Applied Science from Concordia University, and a certificate in Public Sector Leadership from the University of Ottawa. He has been recognized for his contributions to public service and innovation with honors including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the APEX Award of Excellence for Innovation.
