Tanium , a leader in Autonomous IT , announced today that it has been selected as a test partner for Microsoft’s codename MDASH, an agent-based multi-model security system.

Tanium is among a select group of customers participating in an exclusive private preview of a system that utilizes over 100 specialized AI agents across a diverse range of models to identify and validate potential code vulnerabilities using a multi-agent, multi-model approach. The system complements traditional static analysis by uncovering complex logic, authorization, and cross-file issues that rule-based tools might miss. As a test partner, Tanium contributes its feedback and expertise in AI and autonomous IT to the development of MDASH’s capabilities.

“Our customers use Tanium as the foundation for building their IT and security infrastructures. Therefore, the security of our products is of fundamental importance,” said Christian Hunt, Chief Engineering Officer at Tanium. “We quickly recognized how much AI accelerates software development and security, and have since implemented Frontier models throughout our entire software development lifecycle. Testing Codename MDASH allows us to drive these efforts forward together with the companies that are redefining what’s possible. This is a commitment that has always been non-negotiable for us: justifying the trust our customers place in Tanium every day.”

As part of the preview, Tanium applied the system to its own production codebase, combining MDASH’s agent scanning with additional AI-powered static and dynamic validation, as well as review by human experts. Validated test results were then directly integrated into its Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This multi-layered approach reflects how Tanium believes AI should be used in security: Frontier AI uncovers issues at scale, which experienced security engineers then verify and prioritize. AI can multiply human expertise, but it cannot replace it. This approach is similar to the “detect, decide, fix” principle that Tanium offers its customers, applied to Tanium’s own software.

“The real added value lies not in the scan itself, but in the subsequent human interpretation and application,” said Loic Simon, Vice President of Security at Tanium. “We applied MDASH to Tanium’s code and put every relevant finding through our own validation and remediation process. By combining agentic AI with the judgment of our security engineers, we are setting the standard for the software our customers rely on. That’s why we want to be involved in shaping tools like MDASH from the outset.”

AI-powered vulnerability detection has made the leap from pure research to enterprise-scale, production-ready defense technology. While artificial intelligence accelerates both software development and the sophistication of attacks against it, code vulnerabilities have become an increasingly critical attack surface. Organizations are now under immense pressure to detect and fix vulnerabilities faster than attackers can exploit them—a challenge for which pattern-based static code analysis was not originally designed. Tanium applies the same principle of detection, decision, and remediation at machine speed to its own software—not just in the environments it secures for its customers.
